Tonights reading did not surprise me. Yes it is a terrible thing for a population to be reduce by 90%, but when you think about it they should be lucky that it wasn't more than that. Sure 90% is bad but that means that 10% built of a resistance rather quickly. Had they been unable to do so at the time they did the spread of disease would have been much worse. If the 10% turned into 5% then the 5% would not have been able to survive. Mainly because they would not be able to dispose of all the bodies. So in that sense the Natives are lucky that a few of them were able to build up resistances quickly.
